unc v. duke!

While I was home for Thanksgiving, my sister and I took off to Chapel Hill on Saturday to watch our Tar Heels take on the yucky Blue Devils in their last regular reason game!  Of course, Carolina crushed Duke, 37-21.  But I got to see so many of my old college friends, and it was Senior Day for the kids who were freshmen when I graduated!  GAH, time flies.  Thanks to my $10 Rams Club tickets, we sat in the very last row, but we actually really liked it up there.  We were both in the band for all four years, so it was neat to have a new perspective and sit in a different area.

Before the game, people text the press box to have their messages added to the big screen.  Most of the time, Carolina fans spell Duke like "Dook," which is why this one was funny.  But, I can't make myself spell it that way.  I'm too OCD for that.

My sister sent that text!  "Two alums back to watch the heels beat dook!  2009 & 2011!"  Clearly, Leanna does not have a problem with the alternate spelling of Duke.

Marching Tar Heels!

And we got treated to the most gorgeous sunset I've ever seen at a football game.

Ok, last one, I promise.

Loved the halftime show, as always!

Now we just have to wait a few days to see which bowl game we'll be headed to!  Go Heels!

the freeman family

About a month ago, this sweet Fairfax family, who are good friends of the Verwyses, sent me a Facebook message asking if I would come out to their house and take a few family photos!  I had planned to stay for about an hour and a half, but I think I ended up being there for closer to two and a half, because their family is just too much fun!

And, on kind of an exciting note, this was the first photo session I didn't do pro bono, so I actually have to put a logo on the pictures... I'm kinda lovin' it!

Meet Candi, Rick, Katie, Emily, Lauren, Jackson, Carter, and Brooks!
