max's going-away party

Last Friday night (cue impossibly catchy and star-studded Katy Perry song here), we had to say goodbye to Max, one of our best and most-loved coworkers, as he moved to Pittsburgh on Monday.  His girlfriend is up there starting her second year of law school soon, so he's certainly being very supportive, but things are already way too quiet around the office!

Photo credit for the Pulitzer Prize-winning image above goes to none other than Michael, our facilities and procurement manager extraordinaire (and, more importantly, fervent reader and supporter of this blog).

So, we invited the whole office to Clyde's of Chinatown to celebrate his last day, and the turnout was really amazing!  It was a perfect testament to how many people know and love Max and the way that he made even his accounting job seem like a day at the races.  Sebia was our official photographer for this event (I felt a little goofy pulling out the mamma jamma Canon camera in a bar), so I stole the next picture from her, but I made sure to include only a couple pictures I'm in since the last thing I need is angry coworkers stopping by my desk today to say their faces are too sweaty for public presentation.  It was H-O-T that day.

Here's Molly, my friend, Caroline, and me!  Caroline and I actually took a grad school class together at NC State last summer, and I made sure to keep her in mind as she was graduating and looking for a job change.  I passed her name off to the International team, and she started about a week and a half ago!

Oh Max, we'll miss you so!

Max is a huge loss for our office (and kind of a personal loss, as we've collectively decided he and Molly will marry someday), but we've promised to keep in touch, and we have an epic game of Words with Friends (basically iPhone scrabble) going on, so at the very least, I can continue to school him with the dictionary.  Love you, buddy!
